How private is my messaging?
Phantom Secure and its affiliates share the same vision when it comes to privacy. No personal information is required upon purchase nor does payment link you to your communications and device. All communications are encrypted and cannot be deciphered. Encryption takes place on the device prior to transmissionand is delivered directly to the intended recipient. No communications are stored anywhere on our networks. Once messages are deleted they are gone forever
How anonymous am I when using Phantom Secure?
Personal information is never required when purchase our service. All payment methods are not linked to your account or device. Your account or username are never known to us or ever requested. Complete anonymity is part of our secure communications offering.
Can I change my passwords?
Yes and we strongly suggest you change any default passwords upon receiving your device. Passwords and passphrases will have minimum requirements. This is our attempt to have you better protect yourself. We recommend long and random passwords/passphrases using as many symbols, letter, numbers and upper/lower cases.
I forgot my password?
As a security measure there is nothing we can do if your password is forgotten. In addition entering the incorrect password that exceeds the maximum amount of attempts, will lead to the device wiping it self.
Can Phantom Secure read my messages?
No. Our service merely facilitates a secure exchange between sender and receiver. Messages are always encrypted by the sender's device prior to transmission that travel through our encrypted channel and only can be decrypted by the intended recipient. Simply put, the content and identity of our clients are not stored on our servers and that the content is encrypted data, which is indecipherable.
Are messages stored on my device secure?
Yes. There are multiple encryption software within our platform that protects your data at rest. The first level of protection comes from the fully encrypted device. The second layer of protection, depending on the application your using, will then be further encrypted within the applications secure database, using the latest proven technology.
Does Phantom Secure's Android device provide the same security as their service on BlackBerry?
Absolutely yes! Everything that is part of our service whether it is BlackBerry or Android will be the latest and best technology. The device is locked down and the encrypted container is secured from the boot up. The infrastructure is protected with multi-level, hardware-to-applications security via Trusted Boot and ARM TrustZone-based Integrity Mesaurement Architure TIMA) to keep your business intelligence and network safe from hacking, viruses, and unauthorized access.
When using Prive I can't locate a message sent to me?
This applies to direct chats with another associate. All messages in direct chats will have Burn times, which will automatically delete the message after a specified time after received. The sender of the message sets the Burn time and the countdown begins after you open the message. Once the time runs out the message will automatically delete itself. A sender can also Regret Burn a message which will have the message delete off both the senders and receivers device, before the original Burn time has expired.
Is it possible to have my contact in Prive completely private?
Yes, we allow our clients the ability to create a true private experience by allowing you to un-list or re-list your contact ID at anytime. Simply, check or uncheck Accept New Contacts found in settings. If you uncheck no one will be able to know if your account exists. Our suggestions on how to use this feature is to add all the contacts you require and then un-list yourself for absolute privacy.
Is Android PS Mail compatible with BB7 email?
Yes, PS Mail is fully compatible with our BB7 email services.
How to send encrypted email on Android Device?
On the device home screen tap on PS Mail 1) Click on Compose icon 2) In the To field enter the email 3) If the email is valid, keys for the contact will be automatically imported. A proper security practice you should follow is to verify each contacts fingerprints to ensure it is the person you want to communicate with. 4) Tap Send icon
How to send an encrypted Prive chat message on Android?
On the device home screen tap on Prive 1) Tap the action button 2) Tap the Add Contact Icon 3) Enter Username and tap Create 4) Type message and tap Send 5) Trust fingerprints screen will appear if this is a new/updated contact. Once keys are fetched you will need to trust them in order to message. 6) Confirm and trust fingerprints and when completed slide the switch to the right 5) Tap Done 6) Type message and send
Note: All initial contact with an individual or group requires you to confirm or trust the person or people you are communicating with by moving the slider to the right and or clicking Done for each contact.
Is Prive encrypted chat only offered on Android?
Yes, Prive is only offered on Android. To communicate with BB7 Phantom devices you will have to use PS Mail.
What is the importance of verifying a contact first before communicating?
When messaging private information over mobile devices, it can be hard to determine who someone is. Therefore it is critical that you verify each contact first before beginning to communicate, to ensure that the contact is, who they say they are. Once verified the contact would be considered trusted. We have provided a process, which allows you to verify and trust contacts easily through the use of matching unique fingerprints.
What is trusting fingerprints?
Each messaging application we offer has a unique fingerprint that can be verified in person or over third party channels. When you trust a contact's fingerprint, means you have verified that the person using the secure message application is who they claim they are. To confirm this, simply contact the person via third party method and compare the fingerprints found on their device and the one you have for them. If they match then it is confirmed that the contact has that secure messaging account.
In Prive why is it mandatory to trust contacts?
Communications should only be between people you can verify and trust. What we have designed is a method that ensures you have that ability, whether you are in an individual chat or in a group. The whole purpose is to make sure everyone is aware of the status of each person they are in contact with and providing them a means to verify and trust a person, through a simple process. The result is a well informed client that can make better decision on whether to communicate with a person or group.
On Android is PS Mail and Prive chat a single service?
No, to provide better security we are operating 2 completely separate messaging systems independent of one another. This allows clients the option to either provide just their email, chat ID or both at their own discretion. This means you don't need to give all your contact information and we will not provide it by default which would automatically link the email to the chat or the chat to the email. What you are getting are 2 completely anonymous secure messaging services. We also believe that Email and Chat are used very differently in the business world. The format and functions are actually useful in their own respected format and having an email appear in a chat form would not be useful and vice versa.
